Design requirements for intelligent battery of POS machine: according to the requirements and specifications of customers, the intelligent battery pack of POS machine matched with the host machine is designed. The intelligent electricity meter, lithium battery and safety protection performance with communication protocol are integrated into the solution, which can achieve the information sharing between the intelligent lithium battery pack and the host machine of POS machine, and finally realize the reasonable, efficient and safe battery management scheme. In the design process of the whole scheme, the most perfect integration with the host is the direction, the safety of battery, battery pack and the whole system is the premise, and the first consideration is to meet the corresponding design regulations and certification regulations. At the same time, in order to ensure the safety and reliability of lithium battery, multi-layer protection should be taken inside the battery pack to prevent lithium battery from being damaged due to overcharge, over discharge or short circuit.
Design scheme of POS intelligent battery:
1) Protection board (PCM): it is mainly the protection circuit designed for the rechargeable intelligent battery pack. Due to the chemical characteristics of the lithium battery itself, it needs to provide intelligent power calculation, overcharge, overdischarge, short circuit, overcurrent and over temperature protection functions. To avoid the risk of combustion, explosion, etc.

2) Protection IC: the main protection function chip of the design scheme, which can monitor the overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, short circuit and other functions of the electric core on-line at any time. Make the core work in a safe, stable and efficient range.

3) Over current protection chip (PTC): mainly designed for the secondary protection function. PTC restorable fuse has the function of over-current protection and automatic recovery. PTC in battery products can prevent high temperature discharge and unsafe high current.

4) 103450 Li ion cell / 103450 Li ion cell (Sanyo).

5) MOSFET: MOSFET, which plays a switching role in the protection circuit. It will never increase or decrease the voltage at both ends of the load, so as to ensure the voltage stability.

6) Power management and control chip (BQ26500): a fully functional power detector, which has an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for measuring voltage and temperature and an analog-to-digital converter for measuring current and charge sensing. The electricity meter has a microprocessor, which is responsible for executing the electricity meter, and can provide the remaining state of capacity and other information. The BQ26500 product also provides the run time to empty. The host can query these information from the electricity meter at any time and inform the user of the battery information. The use of electricity meter is very convenient. Let users master battery power at any time.
